This kit is perfect for the person who doesn't want to go nuts with their suspension setup, but wants some decent performance. Sure it won't perform as well as a high steer setup with long travel shocks and flexy springs but will out perform the stock setup by far with stock or aftermarket springs.Included in this kit are
- a complete set of 5.5" greasable shackles with bushes and greasable bolts (5.5" is 2" over stock and will give you approx 25mm of additional lift)
- an adjustable torque rod
- an adjustable dropped drag link suitable for lifts up to 4"
- a 40mm triple drilled driveshaft spacer with hardware
A note on shackles and lift : Gaining all of your lift from shackles alone is not really a good idea, especially if you aren't going to cut and relocate suspension mounts. The angle of the shackle affects both the spring rate and also the articulation of the leaf spring. So the longer you go with the shackle, the more vertical the shackle angle becomes, this in turn limits the amount of down travel and also increases the spring rate making the ride harsher.
The other thing to consider is the actual lifted height of the vehicle is only half of the shackles extended length, so if you wanted to gain 2" of lift from a Hilux using shackles alone your total shackle length would need to be 7.5" eye to eye.
